A Quiet Place Part II Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

5. The Intricate, Immersive Sound Design

A Quiet Place Part II is certainly a worthy film for those planning their first visit back to the cinema in many months, if only for its expert sound design.

Much like the Oscar-nominated sound work on the original film, the sequel's aural landscape is ingeniously engineered, making the most of even the faintest sound to generate tension.

The sound mix truly comes alive, though, during the thunderous attack sequences, with the monsters' ear-splitting screeches sure to leave audiences with sweaty palms.

Though the theatrical window is shrinking, and Paramount has already announced that A Quiet Place Part II will be available on their Paramount+ streaming service within 45 days of its theatrical release, this is definitely a film worth watching with the biggest, bassiest sound system you can find.
