10 More Best Actor Replacements In Movies
6. Jennifer Jason Leigh - The Hateful Eight
When Quentin Tarantino was assembling his Western thriller The Hateful Eight, he initially eyed Jennifer Lawrence for the role of the main villain, Daisy Domergue - a murderous, psychotic gang leader.
But Lawrence ended up declining the part due to her commitments to both The Hunger Games franchise and the David O. Russell movie Joy, leading Tarantino to land on Jennifer Jason Leigh instead.
And watching the movie, it's hard to appreciate how Lawrence would fit into it. She would've been just 24 years old when shooting started, whereas the middle-aged Leigh was simply far more innately believable in the role of a wily veteran criminal.
Tarantino obviously knows what he's doing casting-wise, though it's clear that Daisy would've felt like a very different character as played by Lawrence.
Considering that Leigh gives the most acclaimed performance in the movie - one which finally netted her a belated Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination - it's impossible to lament J-Law missing out.
