4. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007)

This particular Adam Sandler vehicle has even less shine than the
piece of s**t car that he himself sang about back during his earlier career. Sandler plays Chuck Levine, a boisterous and outrageously testosterone fuelled (sound familiar?) fireman who gets married to Kevin James Larry Valentine for reasons so predictable and pathetic that even they themselves seem to have trouble convincingly portraying them. At this point, Sandler just seems to be appearing in whatever drops on his desk, whether its funny or not; the proof litters his career but Chuck and Larry is arguably one of the strongest pieces of evidence. Here, Sandler iswell, hes just Sandler. Theres no extra layer or further depth than that. He does what he always does, in the same way that he always does it and doesnt even seem to care that youre being ripped off the price of admission. Movies like this make it seem like all Sandler actually cares about is maintaining his yearly exposure quota and lining his bank account with unearned bucks.
