Aladdin Trailer Breakdown: 10 Things You Need To See

4. Refined CGI All Around

Aladdin Genie Will Smith
Disney

The controversy surrounding the first look at the Genie's CGI in the last teaser became kind of a headline event in its own right. News spread far and wide, to the point that even general audience members caught a whiff of just how negatively it was received.

Clearly, Disney took this to heart, because the vast majority of the CGI on display in this trailer is much more impressive. First off, it looks like fully-rendered CGI that has actually been finished, as opposed to the first-look at Genie, which was pretty blatantly still a work-in-progress. But secondly, everything just looks much more well-integrated into the frame than it had in previous trailers.

We get extended glimpses of Abu, Rajah, the Flying Carpet, and Genie himself. All of which are fully CGI characters and all of which look pretty great. There are a few shots here and there that could still use some work (mostly of the actors very obviously standing in front of green screens) but overall, its pretty remarkable just how much progress this trailer showcases in the effects.
