Aladdin Trailer Reactions: 4 Ups & 5 Downs

3. "A Whole New World" Sounds Awesome

The trailer also gives fans their first proper glimpse of one of the film's marquee songs, and of course, how could it be anything other than "A Whole New World?"

The trailer ends with an energetic new version of the iconic Disney classic, cementing that while the jury's still out on their spoken performances, Massoud and Scott's singing sounds pretty damn great.

Yes, there's obvious auto-tune present throughout, but it doesn't seem remotely as aggressive as deployed for Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast.

From the short snippet we've heard, it seems to walk a fine line between paying homage to its forebear but adding a flashy, contemporary spin on the original music.

If the rest of the songs sound this good, then they could help push Aladdin over the top and compensate for its expected flaws.
