Alice Through The Looking Glass: 10 Reasons It's Worse Than The Original
1. It Exists Only Because Of Money
It might sound trite to say, but more so than just about any blockbuster in recent memory, this is a film made solely for money and not much hint of artistic merit.
Consider that 2010's Alice made an easy billion dollars despite being just OK, and it was clear that Disney confidently didn't feel the need to come up with a great story for this sequel, just trotting out its half-baked time travel plot and knowing that, even six years later, it'll make its budget back many, many times over (though another billion-dollar grosser seems highly unlikely).
While the original Alice at least had a pretense of some imagination and invention, this sequel is so absurdly transparent in its pursuit for cold, hard cash.
