So some of that concept art Blomkamp put up before this Alien deal got officially announced included a couple of paintings that were definitely supposed to be Corporal Dwayne Hicks, last seen played by Michael Biehn in Aliens. Well, last seen alive, that should be, since the downer beginning of Alien 3 involved him dying alongside Newt and android Bishop in cryo-stasis. Many fans remain up in arms about how the fairly triumphant finale of Aliens with Ripley, Hicks, Newt and half of Bishop fending off the Alien Queen and then escaping in a separate ship was totally undercut within the first five minutes of its sequel. Not only because killing a kid was kind of messed up, but also because bumping off one of the best characters from the previous movie off-screen was kind of a douchey move. From the looks of it, Blomkamp agrees with them. But if he died in Alien 3, then who is this Hicks seen in the concept art? He looks pretty messed up, with the side of his head going a little melty Two-Face-style, suggesting he's either wearing the wounds suffered in his last appearance...and he got better. Or perhaps, in an Alien: Resurrection manner, he's been cloned?
