If the Engineers are the godlike creators of mankind, what the hell happened to them? Why did they decide, as the crew of Prometheus surmised in the previous film, to create biological terrors and target Earth for an attack? These are the biggest questions left dangling by Prometheus, and Alien: Covenant is bound to lay some groundwork for an answer (if Ridley Scott really is making three more Alien prequels, you probably cant expect full clarification here). Certainly, the sole living Engineer that met the Prometheus crew didnt pause for long before deciding to kill them all. This suggests that this godly race see mankind as unredeemable enemies. Why? And also, Davids dialogue with the Engineer still hasnt been translated. What did the android say to the god? Hopefully, Scott will choose to address some of these queries in Alien: Covenant. Theres a chance that he could just veer off in a new direction instead, but providing some closure on these dangling plot threads would be very welcome.
