Although Prometheus ends with a creature being born that looks a bit like a Xenomorph, this clearly isnt the finished version of the beast. So what happens next? How does that skinny prototype evolve into a huge killing machine? Alien: Covenant might explain. On top of this, audiences may also get to see some "connections with Ripley" - according to a Ridley Scott interview in Empire Magazine - which could connect the new movies with the old ones even further. This tease from Scott raises even more questions, of course. Was Ellen not the first Ripley to battle a deadly alien? Was her interest in space travel inspired by a family member in some way? Alien: Covenant will surely go part of the way to answering these questions, thus serving to clarify the link(s) between Prometheus and Alien. Unless Scott decides to leave everything unanswered again, that is.
