4. Michael Fassbender Is The Only Confirmed Returning Cast Member
By far the strongest element of Prometheus was Michael Fassbender as David, the Lawrence Of Arabia-influenced android and milky precursor to the likes of Ash and Bishop from the original run. Given that he survives (well, his head at least) he was always a fair lock for the sequel. And that's indeed the case - Fassbender is the only named actor linked to the film. According to the official synopsis, David is now the lone inhabitant of a idyllic-but-deadly planet, possibly the Engineer homeworld. Of course, it may not be the same David from the previous film - tie-in material for Prometheus revealed the David 8 was actually a mass-produced android, and given how obsessive the Weyland Industries is over discovering aliens it wouldn't be surprising if more than one robot was involved in the xenomorphs early days. That'd also serve as a nice workaround for the whole "no body" thing. No word, however, on where Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw has got to. She jetted off to find the Engineer's origins with David's head at the end of Prometheus, yet is conspicuously absent here. The description of David as "lone inhabitant", rather than "lone survivor" leaves her involvement open for sure, but it's curious what she's up to - they wouldn't pull an Alien 3 and kill her off screen, would they?
