6. Michael Fassbender's Excellent Dual Performance

Alien Covenant Michael Fassbender
Fox

Surprise, surprise: Michael Fassbender is the best thing about Alien: Covenant, just as he was in Prometheus.

Here he gets decidedly more to work with by playing two android characters, the result of which is a supreme acting challenge that he admirably rises to, impressively managing to make the two characters feel distinctly different.

David's sinister curiosity has evolved into something quite different by the time Covenant takes place, and Fassbender sells the creepiness superbly, while making the American-accented Walter his likable, Bishop-esque "brother".

Almost every scene Fassbender's in perks the whole movie up, and thankfully, he's in it a Hell of a lot.
