Alien Covenant Sequel: 10 Things It Must Do

1. Reveal David’s Ultimate Fate

Well he’s not around in the Alien movies so we’re going to assume there’s a good story behind his absence, and hopefully it will be told in the next movie rather than dragged out into a fourth prequel.

There are a number of potential fates that could befall the villainous synthetic.

He’s made it his mission to vanquish both mankind and the Engineers - we’d be surprised if that turns out well for him, although the hollowed-out corpse of the Space Jockey could well be the final remnants of the former race.

If one of our protagonists or an Engineer doesn’t take David out, there’s reason to suspect he may sacrifice himself for what he perceives to be the greater good.

Remember the biomechanical elements in the Xenomorph design? Perhaps their creator lays down his artificial life to incorporate himself into his creation, perfecting his ultimate killing machine and achieving a form of immortality in the process.

Whatever David’s fate happens to be, one more movie should suffice to complete his story as Ridley Scott is unlikely to be able to churn Alien prequels out indefinitely, given that Covenant failed to set the box office alight.
