Between the off-screen spider bite that turned the MCU's Peter Parker into Spider-Man, and the character being officially welcomed into the Avengers on board a spaceship during Infinity War, Parker spent a lot of time and effort trying to convince Tony Stark that he was worthy of a spot on the team.

However, had he been in pursuit of an Alpha Flight roster spot, there would have been a more official way of proving himself. This would be thanks to the tiered system the team has in place.

With Alpha Flight at the top of the hierarchy, a hero looking to join the team would have to start in the bottom tier, Gamma Flight, and work their way up through to the second tier of Beta Flight, before finally being considered for the big leagues.

This acts almost as a minor league set up, in which heroes are given an opportunity to prove themselves Alpha Flight worthy, ensuring the team is the best that it could possibly be. This would be utterly unique in the realms of the MCU, and would allow for the inclusion of many more minor character appearances should these lower rungs also be included.
