6. They Are The Canadian Equivalent Of The Avengers

After taking their lead from the creation of the Fantastic Four, Alpha Flight became known as Canada's equivalent to the Avengers. While Earth's Mightiest Heroes protected the United States, Alpha Flight would do the same across the border, bringing in exclusively Canadian heroes to the fight.

With a core team of Aurora, Guardian, Northstar, Sasquatch, Shaman, and Snowbird, the team even mirrored certain powers, traits, and dynamics of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Clearly, this isn't a team to be taken lightly, with such a comparison to its name.

Throughout the history of the MCU, the Avengers have routinely ignored foreign borders, taking their battles across the world to the likes of Sokovia, Nigeria, and Siberia. The theory behind the Accords however, is that they would no longer be allowed to do this at will.

This would allow for the creation of similar teams around the world. In Black Widow, we will see the debut of the Red Guardian, the Russian equivalent to Captain America, and Alpha Flight would act as they have done in the comics, as the Canadian version of the Avengers, preventing the need for Earth's Mightiest Heroes to ever venture that far north.
