Alternate Versions Of Every MCU Movie We Almost Got To See

2. Black Panther Almost Introducing The Young Avengers

During the press tour for Black Panther, director Ryan Coogler confirmed that he and co-writer Joe Robert Cole heavily considered including an additional black superhero in the film: Elijah "Eli" Bradley aka Patriot.

Coogler and Cole ultimately scrapped the idea in order to focus more on Wakanda, but it's an especially interesting close call given Patriot's stature as a member of the Young Avengers.

Potentially, Patriot's inclusion could've provided a backdoor introduction to the adolescent superheroes, and presented an enticing opportunity for spin-off movies or more young blood to take the lead in Phase 4 of the MCU.

Would It Have Worked?: There's definitely potential for Young Avengers to be goofy as hell in live-action form, but Black Panther could've certainly introduced Patriot and hinted at his teenage pals without necessarily sticking a label on the group.

With the right approach it could've worked, but given the impending, apparent finality of Avengers 4, perhaps it's a little over-eager to start introducing a new fleet of young heroes already.
