Alternate Versions Of Every MCU Movie We Almost Got To See

15. Captain America: The First Avenger's X-Men Crossover

By all accounts Captain America: The First Avenger was always envisioned as a self-aware throwback to classic adventure movies, but if one planned scene had actually been pulled off, it would've changed the film forever.

Originally, Cap's solo debut was to feature cameo appearances from X-Men's Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Magneto. With their respective connections to World War II, Wolverine would show up as a soldier, while Magneto would appear as a child in an internment camp.

Naturally, though, issues with rights-holder Fox scuppered the plans before they ever got far. Sad.

Would It Have Worked?: The logistics of intersecting these separate cinematic franchises aside, 1000% yes. There would be arguments about the cameos seeming shoe-horned or contrived, but honestly, the fan service appeal of Cap briefly stumbling across Logan and a young Erik Lehnsherr speak for themselves.
