3. The Return Of The Sinister Six (2026)

Having seen Kraven best Spider-Man, and leaving some serious questions about his powers, but not his commitment to Mary Jane, the next logical step would be to bring in another sizeable threat who had recognised the potential to kick Spidey when he's down. Enter the Sinister Six again - taking advantage of the success (hopefully) of the spin-off, as well as the impact left by the follow-up appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 4 (and presumably with at least some of the villains left alive or uncaptured) - their ranks boosted by new members (Venom? Scorpion? Mysterio? Hobgoblin?) though ideally not all the way up to the Sinister 12 line-up of the comics, as that would presumably be the moment when too many villains became a real problem again. Comic Book Reference Point: "The Return Of The Sinister Six" Great villains always return, and this storyline would offer the opportunity to free the remaining members of the Sinister Six, and have them seek revenge on Spider-Man for their humiliation, along with some new recruits replacing some of the more tired members (and with Hobgoblin adding a more menacing take on a familiar green face). Again, Doctor Octopus could lead, though without the shadowy influence of Norman Osborn, as he uses the Sinister Six as cannon fodder to distract from his own plan to take over the world. The stakes would be higher, and the new members would bring enough freshness to warrant a second appearance on screen for the group.
