The Amazing Spider-Man 2: 13 Actors Who Should Play Venom In Spin-Off
4. Chris Pine
Like Zac Efron, Pine is young with the boyish good looks and charm that would counter Venom's ferocious nature and he has the personality to have a good on screen dynamic with Andrew Garfield should this version of Eddie Brock meet Spider-Man. But the difference here? Chris Pine can act. He's not a massive guy, but he's fit and toned enough to play a young version of 616 Venom whilst also not too big or intimidating to play the more wimpy Ultimate version. Having played Captain Kirk with huge success in the Star Trek movies, it's already clear that he can take the lead in a big-budget science fiction adventure. What isn't yet clear is whether or not he can portray the villainous character that Venom is so renowned for being. This is one of those "might work, might not work" choices that, if it did work, could be brilliant and, if it didn't work, could be awful. However, his casting would probably be met with calm apprehension and some cheers rather than just jeers, which would be something of a good sign.
