The Amazing Spider-Man 2: 24 Easter Eggs, References & In-Jokes You Need To See

22. Morbius

Eagle-eyed trailer watchers had already confirmed the presence of this Egg hinting at the presence of the most unlikely Spider-Man villain in Marc Webb's world, and it appears in the final movie. When Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn discovers how to read the secret material that his father gives him (without explaining how to use it, for absolutely no fathomable reason, since it could save his son's life) he uncovers a raft of information relating to Norma Osborn's life work. The information includes a number of eye-catching teases, some of them relating to the Green Goblin, like files called Exoskeleton 232, Nano Drug System, Carbon Fiber Test 7, OS €“ Suit (Mark III) and some to other villains we've already seen like Eel Lab €“ Report 29, Ma Dillion Experiment, Ravencroft, Power Station €“ NY and Dr Connors File. But one of the more exciting for Spidey-fans will be the file named Dr Morbius File. That of course relates to Morbius The Living Vampire, a former Oscorp employee in the comics who becomes a vampire after researching a rare blood disease. Incidentally, this is his second brief Marvel movie cameo, as he appears in the alternate ending to Blade, which set up the ultimately scrapped story arc for the sequel.
