3. More Revelation About Peter's Parents
One dangling plot thread from the first film was the truth about the disappearance of Peter's parents. We're told that they died in a plane crash, and though Pete spends the first act of the film digging into their whereabouts, that plot point is immediately dismissed when the Lizard begins terrorizing the city. We've heard from Marc Webb and the writers of the film that those things will be addressed in the sequel and you can bet that their story will be an over-arching story for this entire series (which currently has two more sequels already announced). We're given brief teases in this trailer about their plane crash and about Richard's involvement with Oscorp. Pete comes across an underground hideout (that Aunt May seems to know about) that contains videos of Richard discussing his research. He says he feels a responsibility to "protect the world from what I know they're capable of." Apparently, he wasn't successful in keeping the company from using his research (which we still know little to nothing about), which should weight heavily on the proceedings as the story moves forward.
