The Amazing Spider-Man: 9 Predictions For His Cinematic Universe

8. The Sinister Six Is Backed & Funded By OsCorp

The subject of the Sinister Six making their grand debut in Spider-Man's Cinematic Universe has been all the rage ever since production first got underway. It's been a subject of obvious controversy, seeing how Sam Raimi applied Sandman, Venom, and New Goblin and jumbled up the story enough to force a fourth film out of production. Raimi's example went to prove that too many villains could clutter narrative, resulting in sloppy execution. Most claimed the same with TASM2, with Electro and Green Goblin all as primary villains in the film, with Rhino €“ whom Marc Webb confirmed would appear for up to four minutes in the final cut €“ taking a supporting role. Other villains have also been mooted to make brief appearances either physically or by simple name drop, but the primary focus has been on the three mentioned antagonists of Spider-Man's second outing. In the first trailer is was revealed that OsCorp held the technology for both Vulture and Doctor Octopus, so it's immediately apparent that Marc Webb is looking to adapt the Sinister Six at some point during the saga.
Since OsCorp has been rather prevalent over most events that have occurred thus far, it would seem logical to guess that each member of the Sinister Six is, by every account, part of or annexed into the company to where OsCorp backs them up with given technology and endless funds to operate under their wing. Whoever pulls the strings, if not Norman Osborn then someone else, they're obviously looking to gather all forms of evil to the cause and squash Spider-Man, and Peter Parker's personal life with it. And with Peter's parents' involved in shady dealings with OsCorp in the past (and their subsequent assassination from an unknown assailant in the trailer), it's clear that OsCorp is hunting down Peter for some insidious purpose. So why not back up a group of highly trained supervillains, possibly headed by Norman's son Harry, to track down Peter and wipe him out? After all, it fits well with Robert Orci's description of OsCorp, stating "OsCorp plays an important role in how our villains get created."
