The Amazing Spider-Man: 9 Predictions For His Cinematic Universe

2. Gwen Stacy Suffers Her Final End

The second half of the previous prediction is the direct opposite of Gwen's survival, and that's her apparent death. This likely prediction is bound to happen at some point if Gwen Stacy is Peter's current love interest. Ever since her appearance was announced when The Amazing Spider-Man was revealed, fans were hasty to see if the production team would replicate her death the same way it occurred in the comics. If this prediction is anywhere close to accurate, the possibility is indeed nigh. Think of the previous prediction, only shifted in the opposite direction. Everything that has been set up for TASM2 and all the hurdles Peter must push through to find the answers behind his parents, OsCorp's hidden secrets, and keeping Gwen out of the crosshairs has the danger level high. Through all the peril and obstacles must come a tough lesson to be learned, and Peter losing Gwen in the end would make a perfect lesson to up his game and shift priorities to OsCorp. The danger of the train derailing is tremendous here, and if the trailers live up to hints that Gwen will suffer her comic book fate then the fans will be both pleased and depressed. Marc Webb's close attention to detail to the Ultimate Spider-Man Universe has been spot-on thus far, and he'll continue the trend if he portrays Gwen's death just the right way. Fans will be contented at that notion, but losing Emma Stone will be torture for others. What she's brought to the character of Gwen Stacy is as close to stellar as any comic book adaptation to date, and she's won over the fanbase's hearts with her charisma and charm. But the idea of "director giveth, director taketh away" hides behind a veil of secrecy, and Gwen Stacy's fate is just another piece of the fabric for Spider Man's Cinematic Universe that plays a substantial role in the formation of future events.
