American Made Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. The Stunning Aerial Cinematography

Easily one of the movie's best aspects is the eye-popping aerial cinematography. Given that the movie revolves around Barry's various trade runs, it only makes sense that much of the film takes place in the air, and Liman includes a ton of beautiful aerial photography that takes full advantage of the gorgeous locations the scenes were shot at.

Considering some of the rather hair-raising situations Barry gets himself into, and some of the treacherous locales he has to fly through, most of the in-air action is absolutely breathtaking to behold, and again proves how CGI can never fully compare to practical filmmaking (though there are also a few sneaky CGI plane shots in there).
