Angelica Huston is Sam Rockwell's mum in Choke

The Hollywood Reporter are telling us that Sam Rockwell has been cast in the movie adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's 2001 New York Times best selling novel Choke. This is something we told you back on May 1st but never mind. What is news is that veteran actress Anjelica Huston will play Rockwell's mother in the flick with Kelly Macdonald and Brad Henke also cast. Palahniuk was of course the author of the awesome Fight Club which was turned into that superb 1999 film and when you read the synopsis of his novel Choke, you can tell it belongs to the same crazy mind...

"Choke" is a black comedy that follows Victor Mancini (Rockwell), a sex addict who works as a Colonial War re-enactor and runs a con scheme that involves deliberately choking in restaurants and attaching himself parasitically to his rescuers, all to fund his mother's (Huston) care at a private mental hospital. He is forced to address his intimacy issues when he falls in love with his mother's doctor and discovers that he is unable to perform with the one woman he actually likes.
Clark Gregg, an actor for nearly twenty years has wrote and will helm his directorial debut with the movie. Currently, his only "non-acting" credit is the screenplay he wrote for What Lies Beneath but I think it's best we forget about that. Rockwell is just 100% perfect for a Palahniuk adaptation and if Gregg can get the tone of the author's writings on the film screen... this should turn out to be one hell of a film. Principal photography begins this week for a release sometime next year!
