20 Horror Movies You'll Never Get To See

11. Brightburn 2

The 2019 James Gunn-produced superhero horror flick Brightburn ended with one hell of a compelling tease for a sequel, with Brandon (Jackson A. Dunn) basically becoming Evil Superman and embarking on an unstoppable worldwide rampage, all while he appears to start forming an Evil Justice League.

Brightburn was a modest commercial success thanks to its staggeringly low $6 million budget, and even with the film's mixed reviews, it garnered a decent measure of passionate support for a follow-up.

But by 2024, Gunn had some bad news for fans - Brightburn 2 is "unlikely" due to tangled up rights issues, with Gunn himself only owning half the Brightburn IP.

Between this, the film's relatively humble box office run, and Gunn being kept supremely busy with his work as co-CEO of DC Studios, there's desperately little prospect of anyone really caring enough to figure out the rights issues and make Brightburn 2 a reality, sadly.
