20 Horror Movies You'll Never Get To See
19. The Thing 2
John Carpenter's The Thing is of course one of the most beloved horror films of all time and has aged like the finest of wines over almost 45 years.
A middlingly received prequel was released in 2011, while every few years Carpenter has popped up to discuss the prospect of making a sequel to the original masterwork.
And Carpenter once again sent ripples through his fanbase when, while speaking at the FAN EXPO Philadelphia back in May, he revealed that he's working on The Thing 2 right now.
Yet Carpenter didn't expound and reveal whether the sequel would involve original leads Kurt Russell and Keith David, and before anyone gets too excited, he followed up by telling fans, "I don't know, we'll see."
Considering that Carpenter has talked about a Thing sequel for years and years, hasn't directed a film since 2010, and seems far more content staying home and playing video games, it's honestly probably for the best that this one continues to be a mildly intriguing "what if?"
Ultimately, it's far more likely we end up with a reboot or remake of The Thing at some point.
