20 Horror Movies You'll Never Get To See

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has been trying to get a new Spawn movie made for around 20 years, but it finally started to gain meaningful traction in 2017 when Blumhouse was announced to have partnered with McFarlane, who would direct the new Spawn film.

The big news, however, came when Jamie Foxx was confirmed to star as Spawn, while Jeremy Renner was signed to play Detective Twitch, with shooting expected to begin in 2018.

But filming ended up being delayed as McFarlane sought to polish the script, and in the years that followed various writers were brought onboard to rewrite his screenplay.

Though the script was said to be complete as of 2024, McFarlane's steadfast insistence to direct the film despite having no filmmaking credits to his name may well be a point of contention with studios and investors.

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and considering a Jamie Foxx-led Spawn movie of all things has spent almost a decade malingering in development hell, it seems unlikely to ever actually happen.
