Ant-Man: 10 Directors Who Could Replace Edgar Wright

3. Shane Black

esq-shane-black-xlg Shane Black made a huge name for himself in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a successful Hollywood screenwriter, working on classic films such as the Lethal Weapon series, The Last Boy Scout, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. He didn't step into the director's chair for the first time until 2005's smart indie flick Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and didn't return to it again until last year for Iron Man 3, which enjoyed critical acclaim and made over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. How Likely Is It? Black proved with Iron Man 3 that he's a natural fit for the superhero movie, and though Ant-Man is considerably weirder and more quirky than anything Black has ever dealt with before, the money he's made for Marvel will certainly have made him a name to consider. Black has been trying to get a Doc Savage movie off the ground for some time now, but given how the movie isn't in anything but the planning stages, there would be ample time for him to jump aboard Ant-Man if need be. 7/10
