Ant-Man: 10 Directors Who Could Replace Edgar Wright

7. Matthew Vaughn

Matthew-Vaughn-001 Matthew Vaughn has a string of acclaimed movies behind him, including the Daniel Craig-starring gangster flick Layer Cake, fantasy film Stardust, outrageous comic book adaptation Kick-Ass, and of course, X-Men: First Class. Of all the directors on this list, Vaughn is perhaps the filmmaker whose visual style most closely approximates Wright's, and as such might be the most appropriate to take on his vision of the movie (presuming it isn't altered any further by Marvel). Furthermore, Vaughn had to work to an extremely protracted production schedule for First Class, turning the film around in just a year, which suggests he might be able to jump into the director's chair for Ant-Man and hit the ground running. How Likely Is It? Vaughn is currently finishing up Kingsman: The Secret Service, though with an October release date, it's likely that most of the heavy lifting has already been done, and he'll just be applying the finishing touches in the editing room. As long as Marvel are fine to give Vaughn a week off to promote his new movie in October, he just might be the guy to tackle Ant-Man. 7/10
