Ant-Man: 10 Directors Who Could Replace Edgar Wright

6. Brad Bird

Brad Bird Brad Bird has had one of the more interesting careers of any director on this list: he started out working on The Simpsons, before directing three hugely acclaimed animated movies, The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille. In 2011, Bird then took a leap to directing live-action with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which despite the danger of a filmmaker transitioning from one medium to another, harnessed Bird's penchant for cartoonish bombast brilliantly. As a result, it goes without saying that his outrageous style would certainly lend itself well to the absurdity of Ant-Man's premise. How Likely Is It? Bird is currently in post-production on Tomorrowland, which is due for release next May. However, the effects-heavy nature of the production suggests that Bird will probably be pretty tied up for the next 6-9 months, so short of Ant-Man being delayed by several months (which certainly is possible), consider this one a pipe dream more than anything. 2/10
