Who? Initially a nuclear physicist working for his native People's Republic of China, Chen Lu has more of a deliberate supervillain origin than most: He gave himself frequent small doses of radiation until he could withstand massive amounts and obtained radioactive powers hence the subtle name. Radioactive Man (jiminy jillikers!) was a perennial opponent of the Avengers, first being defeated by Thor and encountering Pym's Ant-Man on several occasions before being recruited into the Civil War-era Thunderbolts and fighting for the side of kind-of-almost-good under noted philanthropist and all-round swell guy Norman Osborn's leadership. Why Stoll Could Play Him: Okay, there's one tiny problem here: Corey Stoll isn't Chinese, and we wouldn't want to encourage any further whitewashing of Hollywood and comics, because diversity in media isn't really all it should be right now. But... a real-life Radioactive Man is such a bonkers concept for a villain and the character was so broadly conceived that it would likely be borderline offensive to make Chen Lu a Bad Communist, and pitting Paul Rudd's lightweight hero against Stoll as a high-powered (again, bald) opponent is an automatic recipe for comedy.
