Ant-Man 3: 10 Ways Kang The Conqueror's Introduction Will Change The MCU Forever
6. Ties To The Fantastic Four's Reed Richards
Kang's real name is Nathaniel Richards, and he's a very distant descendent of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four. The fact Jonathan Majors is African American is definitely significant, as it could mean the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Reed and Sue will be Black (1000 years is a long time, though, so that doesn't necessarily have to be the case).
The thought of a more diverse Reed and Sue is exciting - even if it does close the door on John Krasinski and Emily Blunt playing the characters.
Regardless of what happens on that front, using a villain who is tied to Reed in this way surely makes it inevitable that we'll get to see the Fantastic Four sooner rather than later. Ant-Man 3 director Peyton Reed has made it clear he wants to bring those heroes to the MCU, so perhaps he'll get the chance when Kang decides to track down his incredibly intelligent ancestor?
Either way, it's clear now that Marvel Studios is slowly beginning to make good use of the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters they gained from Fox following the Disney/Fox merger.
