Ant-Man And The Wasp: 11 Big Implications Of Marvel's Announcement

6. ...But Very Few People Will Accept It's Enough

Is one female star property and one shared top billing really enough? Probably not if you're going on a purely quote-driven mentality, which is precisely why there was a very noticable trend on Twitter of people responding cynically to journalists suggesting Wasp's top billing was a bonus for character equality. Those criticisms ranged from the fact that she could have had her own film through tokenism to the suggestion that she should have been billed before Ant-Man. Ignoring the idiocy of the last one (look at what happened when Batman came before Superman), the response does point towards a more general disquiet among fans.
