Ant-Man And The Wasp: 21 Easter Eggs & References Explained

1. Them!

Them 1954
Warner Bros.

The classic 1954 sci-fi film Them! is referenced twice in the movie, and considering that Them! is about a nuclear bomb test that creates a fleet of gigantic, killer ants, it's a perfect fit.

The first tip of the hat comes when Hank Pym tricks Bill Foster into handing over his tin of Altoids mints, which of course contains a number of his ant helpers. They quickly grow in size, prompting Foster to exclaim, "It’s them!"

The second nod comes at the very end of the film, as Scott, Hope and Cassie are having a shrunken-down drive-in movie experience in their back garden with a laptop (and moths, of course). The movie they're watching, inevitably, is Them!, and Cassie seems to be having a great time with it.
