Ant-Man And The Wasp: Is The Sequel Better Than The Original?

4. Wider MCU Relevance

Ant Man And The Wasp Spoilers
Disney

Ant-Man, as the 12th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, was bound to be filled with easter eggs and references. These came mainly in the form of Hank Pym name dropping Stark, but there was also the great scene that took place at the new Avengers Headquarters that was established after Age of Ultron. This came with a wonderful cameo from Falcon that put smiles on faces across every audience watching.

Yet other than the mid-credit sting teasing the titular character's involvement in Captain America: Civil War, and the introduction of the Quantum Realm, there was very little from Ant-Man that affected the rest of the MCU. Yes, the Quantum Realm looks set to play a major part in Avengers 4, but this wasn't known at all in 2015. Instead Ant-Man and The Wasp delved deeper into the importance of the different dimension.

The 2018 sequel also contained just the slightest hint of a possible Young Avengers idea down the road. When talking to her Dad, Cassie Lang wanted to offer her services as Ant-Man's partner. In the comics, Cassie took on the monikers of Stature, and Stinger, sharing her Father's ability to shrink and grow as she pleased.

Not to mention that mid-credit scene...
