Ant-Man And The Wasp Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs

3. Michelle Pfeiffer's Nothing Role

No spoilers here, but we all know that Michelle Pfeiffer appears in Ant-Man and the Wasp as Hope van Dyne's (Evangeline Lilly) mother Janet aka the original Wasp, even though her presence in the marketing has been suspiciously light.

The reason for the secretive approach to her role is basically because she's barely in the movie at all, totting up maybe ten minutes of screen time throughout - if we're being generous - and not even doing much of interest with the briefly-allotted time.

Pfeiffer would be a fantastic addition to just about any superhero movie, so it's a shame her talents are effectively squandered here. Given how affecting the quest to rescue Janet from the quantum realm should be, it all ends up feeling a bit hollow with Pfeiffer pushed so far to the periphery.
