Ant-Man And The Wasp Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs

2. The Script Feels Low-Effort & Lazy

Though there are plenty of undeniably hilarious moments in this film, the script as a whole basically feels like it was quickly cobbled together over a lazy week.

From the distracting reams of exposition to the humour that doesn't land, the aforementioned mediocre villains and abundance of sci-fi nonsense that happens "just because", it really feels like the script, which was written by five (!) people, suffered from too many cooks in the kitchen.

There's no consistency of vision and not much inspiration to the plot beyond following the most basic, predictable and simplistic superhero movie beats. Nobody was expecting an Infinity War-calibre epic, but fans probably deserved something more interesting and affecting than this.
