Ant-Man & The Wasp: 7 Things We Want To See In Marvel’s Insect-Themed Sequel

6. Scott Lang To Size Up As Giant-Man

Pym Particles are truly amazing. They have capability to shrink a subject down to the size of an insect or increase their mass to super-sized proportions. And - as anyone well versed in their comic book lore will tell you - their size-boosting properties occasionally see Ant-Man go by another alias: Giant-Man. The appearance of the freakishly-huge ant and tank keychain in the original movie were more than just Reed flexing his special effects budget. Just like when Captain America wielded that dustbin lid The First Avenger, this was a classic case of foreshadowing. These not-so-subtle hints suggest that Lang sizing up as Giant-Man on screen is almost a given. Perhaps it will happen in next year€™s Captain America: Civil War, but it could make for one hell of a climax if they saved it for Ant-Man and the Wasp. Giant-Man's comic book roots stretch back to 1963 when Pym adopted the identity in an issue of Tales to Astonish. It was later revealed that he sized up because he felt inadequate alongside more powerful Avengers such as Thor and Iron Man - hanging around with a thunder god and a billionaire playboy is enough to make anyone insecure. Overcompensation aside, introducing the 12-foot Giant-Man into the equation may be necessary if Ant-Man and Wasp end up facing off against the kind of gigantic threat the Marvel universe is full of.
