9. Where Is MODOK?
From the looks of it, Quantumania will be able to boast at least two villains in Krylar and Kang the Conqueror, but that certainly doesn’t mean there won’t be more. The bizarre creatures that surrounded Scott and co. didn’t seem like the friendliest of people, and there is one more major antagonist that is confirmed to be appearing.
After what will be eight years since playing the villainous Darren Cross in Ant-Man, Corey Stoll will be returning in the form of MODOK. This was confirmed by the footage shown at both San Diego Comic-Con and D23.
Cross’ survival wouldn’t take too much explaining, as he may have simply been banished to the Quantum Realm by the Pym Particles in a similar way to how the Red Skull was transported to Vormir by the Tesseract instead of being killed. Quite how he will make the transition into MODOK however is something that definitely needs answering.
None of these answers were forthcoming in the trailer, as MODOK was absolutely nowhere to be seen. Scott and Hope will most definitely run into the villain during the events of the movie, but where, when, how, and why are still to be shown.
