Apostle Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
6. The Gorgeous Visuals
Shot by Evans' regular DP Matt Flannery, it's little surprise that Apostle is a rather ravishing film, making excellent use of Wales' natural beauty to give the remote island an extremely eerie quality from the outset.
The countless scenic shots are absolutely splendid, while fantastic production design ensures that the cult settlements themselves feel very much authentic and lived-in.
It's clear the film wasn't produced on a huge budget, yet Evans once again makes the most of his limited resources to deliver a visually entrancing effort that'll certainly give 4K TV owners plenty of lush bang for their buck.
