Aquaman: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

4. The Supervillains

Speaking of things fans have been waiting for, who's excited for Ocean Master and Black Manta? At last, the Loki of the Aquaman series and the most badass scuba diver ever will be done proper justice. With the likes of Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II filling out the roles, these two are already shaping up to be part of the film's major highlights.

Patrick Wilson will get a meatier role where the familial ties between his character and Arthur can lead to some special, engaging moments. Wilson rarely gets to dig into more villainous roles, but as he's shown with movies like Watchmen and Insidious, he can play someone who makes you uneasy when he's around. It's unclear what Manta's overall role in the film will be outside of playing a foil to Arthur and Mera's plan, but his action sequences already look amazing.

Finally, there's the Trench, who aren't exactly known for much outside of being pure objects of terror. That teased sequence involving Arthur being swarmed by them with only a red light guiding them looks terrifying and tense, fitting right in with director James Wan's previous work. These three each serve their own purpose for the film and will likely become fast favorites for fans.
