Aquaman: 10 Things Fans Demand Most
1. Changing The Game
Even for those not versed in comic nerdery, it's well known that Aquaman is the 'lame one' of the Justice League – because in all fairness, he is essentially a dorkier Namor.
The Aquaman film, however, appears to have gotten this memo, nodded, and then ripped it into tiny pieces. From what we have seen, the team have managed to take things that previously made Aquaman uncool, and make them pretty damn awesome. Between giant seahorse dragons and a Bioshock-like Atlantis, there’s a clear attempt to use existing Aquaman material and make it badass, instead of totally retconning the character.
There are changes that have to be made, yes, but the willingness to fully utilise the source material is incredibly, incredibly promising. It seems like most of fan concern about the Justice League Aquaman rests in how he didn’t seem that similar to his comic counterpart, so hopefully this should also help put those concerns to rest.
It's clear that, in this sense, Aquaman will be a game-changing film – and, with a little luck, maybe also a great one.
