Army Of The Dead: 9 Stupid Blunders That Completely Ruined It

3. ... And The Sole Survivor Is The Film's Worst Character

The fact that this movie kills nearly all of the characters off unnecessarily is bad enough, but what's worse is that the only person to emerge alive at the end is Katie Ward, Scott's annoying daughter. It's no exaggeration to say that she will have been the character most audience members wanted to survive the least (with the exception of Garrett Dillahunt's villain).

Katie is a weak character whatever way you cut it. It's not really the fault of actress Ella Purnell; rather, the script renders her an inactive and fussy character who is constantly complaining, making dumb decisions and putting other people in danger.

Additionally, the fact that she's involved in the film's two worst plot-lines - her relationship with her father as well as her searching for Geeta - doesn't help either.

Frankly, Katie should've been cut from the film altogether. There was already quite a large crew of heist characters and the last thing the crew needed was an annoying tagalong civilian.
