Arnold Schwarzenegger: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Commando (1985)

If any movie comes close to perfectly capturing the essence of the action genre's 1980's heyday, then surely Commando would be near the top of the list. Loud, stupid, brainless and most importantly gloriously entertaining, Arnold Schwarzenegger's first post-Terminator leading role served the combination of bullets and one-liners that would serve him incredibly well over the next decade. From the moment the Austrian Oak strides into the movie nonchalantly carrying a tree to the song that plays over the closing credits, Commando is a prime slice of 1980's cheese. With a synth soundtrack, endlessly quotable quips, a mustachioed and chainmail-wearing nemesis and an extended third act that sees Arnie casually dispose of an entire army single-handedly, Commando is one of the finest examples of OTT action cinema ever made.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
