15. Conan The Barbarian - Battle On the Ruins
A young Conan is enslaved after vicious warriors massacre his parents. Conan spends the next few years pushing The Wheel of Pain, a device that appears to do nothing other than give you the physique of a champion bodybuilder. When he is released from slavery, he is taught how to fight and he soon uses those skills to go hunt down Thulsa Doom, the scumbag who killed his parents. Co-written by Oliver Stone, as stories go, it's as simple as they come but everything from the directing to the script and Schwarzenegger's acting work perfectly together in this film adaption of the stories by Robert E. Howard. It was the film that launched Schwarzenegger's acting career and brought him to the attention of worldwide audiences. After this, he would go on to star in a little film called The Terminator. Schwarzenegger also performed most of his own stunts and two swords were specially made for him at a cost of $10,000 each, a lot of money in 1982.
