Avengers 2: 10 Things You Need To Know About New Characters

9. The Vision's Mind

The Vision has been a consistent mainstay of the Avengers ever since his introduction. He was created by Ultron to destroy the Avengers, but he rebelled and joined them instead in one of the team€™s most memorable stories. One of the reasons for the Vision€™s rebellion is that Ultron programmed him too well.

After the death of Wonder Man, who was created to betray the Avengers by Baron Zemo and later defended them, Tony Stark vowed to use his recorded brainwaves to somehow resurrect him. Ultron stole those recordings and used them to program the Vision, which is what imbued the artificial intelligence with the ability to experience human emotions.

Wonder Man hasn€™t been introduced in the films (although we hope he eventually is), so it€™s hard to imagine his brainwaves being used for the Vision. One fan theory after The Avengers was that Agent Coulson€™s brainwaves would be used and Clark Gregg would play the Vision, but Agents of SHIELD nixed that idea.

So how will the Vision get his personality in this film? We know he€™s going to be an upgraded version of JARVIS in the movie, and JARVIS has already proven to have a personality of his own given his dry wit in his interactions with Tony. Given that, maybe they€™ll forego the brainwaves completely.
