Avengers 4: 10 Twists Nobody Will See Coming

One of the burning questions concerning Avengers 4 is what will come after it. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains shrouded in darkness, but that hasn't stopped the fans from speculating about what the next big storyline will be.

Many believe the loose adaptation of the Infinity Saga that is currently playing out will be followed by the MCU's take on Secret Invasion, in which the shape-shifting Skrull infiltrates Earth by swapping its inhabitants for evil carbon copies.

There's evidence to support these claims as Captain Marvel is likely to take a deep dive into the history of the Skrull race and establish their presence in the MCU. There's even a chance they will play a key role in Avengers 4. This sets up a potentially huge twist. Once Thanos has finally been dealt with and the timeline rejigged, it could transpire that the Skrull's invasion began years ago and one of the main heroes is actually one of them, hidden in plain sight.

With her shadowy past, Black Widow could be the most obvious candidate. Maybe her rumoured solo film involves the real Natasha Romanoff returning to hunt down the alien that's been masquerading as her all these years.
