Samuel L. Jackson very publicly decried the fact that Nick Fury wasn't involved in Black Panther, and with fans left in the dark as to what the super spy was up to before he was disintegrated in Infinity War, it's clear that he must've been up to something important.

Theories put forward thus far have optioned everything from the character tracking down the Red Skull to him potentially even tracking a Skrull incursion. Whatever he has been up to, statements from Jackson have clued us in on one meeting in particular happening in the near future - one he wanted to see when Black Panther made his solo debut this January.

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the actor revealed Marvel's reply to his desire to see himself meet T'Challa in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther movie.

"Just so you could say, 'Oh, Nick Fury is out in the world looking for whatever the evil in the world is'... He's just there and is kind of like, 'Oh, yeah, that's that Black Panther dude.' 'Cause there's no way in the world he doesn't know where Wakanda is or what vibranium is or any of that, because he's Nick Fury.""It was just like, 'Ehh, nah. We're good. Nick Fury and Black Panther will meet somewhere. But not there.'"

So there you have it. Nick Fury and T'Challa will meet at some point - potentially even in Avengers 4 - but it wasn't meant to be pre-Infinity War. Given how Avengers 4 is said to feature a scene bringing all of Marvel's heroes together, could it be sooner than we all think?
