Avengers 4: 8 Clues For What Happens Next

3. A Moon Knight Cameo Too?

Marvel Comics

Moon Knight is a character that's long been the topic of fan discussion - and for good reason too. Although the vigilante first started out life as something of an ersatz Batman, he has - in recent times at least - become one of Marvel's most lauded properties, with the likes of Warren Ellis and Jeff Lemire presiding over some of the character's most compelling literature to date.

Kevin Feige mentioned just the other month that Marc Spector is frequently discussed on Marvel Studios' "character cards"; just this week, Infinity War writers Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely said they wanted to see someone make a "really good" Moon Knight movie, and though previous speculation had seen the character's name discussed purely in TV terms, with the hero lending himself well to Netflix's more adult format, a resurrection of the Marvel Knights banner isn't out of the question - not yet at least.

In any case, it's clear that Marvel have plans for the character, and that his association with Marvel Studios is of particular interest. One can only speculate as to where the franchise could head after Avengers 4, but with both Feige and the Marvel writers' room having let slip that the hero is on their minds, it's possible that he could be set to play a prominent role in Phase 4, or even beyond.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
