Kevin Feige and The Russos have all been very clear that we should forget the idea of the two Avengers films as Infinity War Parts 1 and 2, and Feige in particular has just unveiled what feels like a publicity manifesto to underline how different they're going to be.

What if that difference is fundamentally tied to the fact that by the end of Infinity War, Thanos will be no more and the Infinity Stones will no longer matter? And what better way to deliver on that than by launching into an equally massive cross-movie narrative arc like Secret Invasion (or, God help us all, Marvel Zombies).

It almost doesn't matter what arc they choose, but if the new title highlights a new story entirely, we're all going to know that Thanos' quest for the Infinity Gauntlet ends and where.
